My Solution To A Javascript Problem

Quite recently i’ve been reading and hearing things from the yahoo ui team’s research about page loading times. One thing that i was waiting to hear all about was the effect the ever-growing mountain of script tags importing various javascript files was having on page load times, we’ve all noticed it, but these guys did the testing to prove it.

Clicks-of-Death

Came home tonight to a nasty sound, my biggest and newest hard drive has “The click” but its still giving me data (be it slowly), thank god! I was down at PLE this morning waiting for them to open so i could get a new one and now i patiently sit back and copy off the 120 or so Gigabytes of data that i didnt have room for on my other drives last night.

WA Web Awards 2007 Finalists..

So the finalists just got announced for the WA Web Awards, wow, i’ve got some serious disappointment on my part for some of the finalists. Some of them are not what i’d consider to be 2007 Award Winning Material.

A couple of good ideas..

I just came across blinksale, an online invoicing web app, very nice, very smooth, produces a good looking invoice and is quite customisable. Combine that with 88Miles, an online time tracking web app and we might just have something here.

Imagine being able to track your time on a various project, hit a button in 88Miles and have it start up a new invoice for you in blinksale and vice versa, opening up an invoice in blinksale could provide a link from the invoiced hours to the breakdown in 88miles, all online!
