I’ve been a little delayed in writing about this one for a number of reasons, but it’s time to put it out there now. Myself & Chris Messina from PerthWeb (not this or this Chris Messina, but a whole new one) have recently launched two new online comics. “What?” i hear you say, “more online comics? is there enough already” sure theres plenty of online comics out there, some crap, some great, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try and do it better. I bit the bullet on Friday and traded to an iPhone, after all the iTunes bullshit (i’m seriously over it!) the phone has been fantastic, no problems so far and it just WORKS. The phone just working is a big thing coming from Windows Mobile where sometimes things just dont work for some stupid reason or another, so it’s really nice to just pick it up, press a button and BAM! the screeen is on straight away and everything responds as soon as you touch it, Windows Mobile device manufacturers have alot to learn from this. I’m not to sure how many of you know this but most of my friends and people that are forced to be around me often, know i love Stand up comedy, theres something about it’s honesty that makes it enjoyable for me, the no holds barred approach. Consequently, i love to watch Last Comic Standing and so far this year has been awesome. I picked up a new computer the other day, heres some pics. 3.0Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR21066 & ATI HD4850, it’s got some balls 😛
Something just occurred to me this evening and it has to do with software companies and the monopoly ‘lock in’ tactics that some use. Microsoft was pulled up over forcing Internet Explorer on people in XP many moons ago now and I’m sure we’re all completely happy with how it eventually turned out, most of us use Firefox and Windows now recognises something called a ‘default browser’.
Fast forward a few years and we’ve seen Apple since day one, ram iTunes down the throat of every ipod owner in the world. This was understandable, after all Continue reading
The new signage at PerthWeb went up bright and early this morning, after a few months of “wheres your building im driving round looking for it and can’t find it” “it has a big TPC on the front” “oh i’m right out the front”, so i guess our customers will be happy. This also bring our new logos for PerthWeb, Webclick, glyFX & Freckle Creative to the public eye, finally!
Yes we’re aware the building needs to be blue too, that’s the next step. Continue you through to see the pictures. Continue reading
Picked up a new pair of shoes this weekend, quite similar to one of my current pair of DC Rob Drydek’s just a slightly different shape. They’re DC Tag, check them out.
The game from the lads at penny-arcade launches on May 21st and looks to be a very nice turn-based adventure game. You can check out prequel comics and buy it online at http://www.playgreenhouse.com/.
I can’t wait, going to be snapping this up!
So i got in thanks greatly to some wonderful friends, though i did have to ditch another friend to go, which was a bit crap. Some videos and pics after the break. The hyde park hotel was a nice venue, but once again, just like Pegz @ the rosemount, the sound was waaay over the top. The sound system trying to be louder than it was capable of. 🙁 Continue reading
The guys in the glyFX offices have brought another fine Vista set to the world, you really should check it out:
glyFX Vista Network I Icon Set
Heres some recent photographs i’ve taken and edited in Adobe Lightroom.
So, earlier today while bashing our heads against a wall we were trying to locate some information on the SVEC FD7419 KVM Console Switch. This piece of hardware has been installed in the office for quite some time now and since then we’ve been through about 3 or 4 sys admins and nobody really knows how to configure it. Continue reading

Recently ours and a few of our neighbours telephones have been atrociously beaten down by line noise. As you can guess this basically means, constant DSL dropouts and a phone line that when it’s stuffed, is impossible to make any kind of call on. Continue reading
Oh MY god. I just got back from seeing Lawrence Leung Learns To Break Dance at the Perth International Arts Festival and Lawrence was amazing. Quite possibly the best bit was when Lawrence said he could solve a Rubik’s cube in 90 seconds and i heckled him with “Prove it”, he retorted with something along the lines of “But do you have a rubik’s cube on you?”, so i shut up. Continue reading
Earlier today i was chatting with someone about having seen the new Tim Burton flick, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and saying how i thought the movie itself was good, but that i just couldn’t get past all the singing of dialogue that happens. Yes I understand it’s a musical, I understand that this is the way things are done in the land of musicals. Unfortunately it’s just not my thing, musical aside, it’s actually a really good film. Continue reading
Just a short clip that i threw the camera out for last weekend at pegz’ burn city tour at the rosemount hotel in north perth. Continue reading
Ohhh shit! Pegz, man, don’t you dare wait 5 years to come back again, that was seriously awesome. Continue reading
